Edit Scene for the Anonymous Film.

Editing the film wasn't as easy as it usually is when it comes to editing the films that we've done before and I think that it was because of the fact that this time I had to work with the sound of everything that was going on around the character (putting on his shirt etc). If it was just music then that could have helped ease the stress levels down some, another difficulty I faced was trying to use some of the scenes but noticing later on that it didn't quite work because there would be a light missing, the footage would be over exposed or things just weren't where they should be along with the people within the film.

However, I did enjoy the day of our filming because although we're all in the same class many of us haven't really had the chance to get to know each other like we did on the day of the filming. I felt that because of that whole day spent on filming we were able to know each other better and work better together as the day progressed. I was actually surprised that no one broke down because of stress, instead everyone was able to keep their heads on straight and were able to proceed on with the film whether they were tired or not. Overall as the crew behind the scenes we did a great job and were able to accomplish our goal at the end of the day which was to get everything on film within that one day we had.

Research

I found this short film intense in the beginning because of how they basically just cut to the point of the whole video. At first I thought that this film would've been the type of film that ends in a resolved situation but it continued on it began to feel less likely of ending with a positive message. Although the concept of the film was a strong one and executed nicely I do believe that the film could have been extended a bit long in order to end off on a better note instead of just continuing on with the situation. I didn't like the ending because of the child not saying anything and because the child went back to just doing what the teacher wanted, In my own opinion I feel that the concept was lost after that because it doesn't encourage the children to speak up instead it does the opposite, instead it tells the children to basically keep it to themselves and eventually it will come to an end.

Research

I found this Advertisement captivating because although there's just one photo, there's actually two. The main photo that you see at first is the first photo that every adult or someone around the same height as a normal adult is sees, the second photo is only seen by the children or those that around the same height as a child. Seeing this ad does fascinate me because of the fact that they were able to have a hidden message just for the kids which is actually a great idea.

This is the photo that the person around the average height of an adult can see. The message at the top is basically just a warning to the parents which says, "Sometimes, child abuse is only visible to the cild suffering it."

This image is what the children are able to see which says, " If somebody hurts you, phone us and we'll help you" along with the anonymous phone number that the child can call in order to receive the help that they need if they are one of the victims suffering from child abuse. Overall I found this Advertisement simple but most importantly effective especially for it to be a photo.

Casting Sarah

After a few conflicts every now and then about who the victim should be we decided to go with Sarah. The conflicts were caused because I felt that it would have been better to cast Lee as the victim just due to the fact that she was already comfortable with Justin and because she has the confidence for that role as well but debs felt Sarah was more appropriate for the role. At first I questioned her why she wanted to choose Sarah as the victim but then remembered that finding a young victim was always the main key even during our brain storming about the film idea. Lee still looks a bit young but I can see why Debs would want to go younger which was a legit move in my own opinion so I stepped down and just supported her with that decision.

Although there were difficulties with trying to get Sarah to not only be comfortable at times but to also do her best with acting I still believe that choosing her was a great idea. I feel positive about the choice we made because I honestly do believe that she did a great job for her first time and because she was willing to do it even though she didn't think she would get the part of being the victim. There might have been times were it wasn't easy because of explaining to her how we wanted the scene to look but she still did her best and thats all that matters, seeing as to how the film still resulted in positive outcomes at the end of a stressful day.

Casting the Rapists

After continuously watching over the auditions in order to choose wisely about who the parts should be distributed to I strongly felt that Peter and Justin were the best choices to for the main rapist parts just because I knew that the girl playing the victim wouldn't feel too uncomfortable around these two also because of the fact that they had the confidence that we needed the characters to have.

I believe that when it came to casting the rapists it took a lot of contemplating because we couldn't come to an agreement on who to choose. After a lot of convincing and explaining why we felt each one was meant for the part we came to a solid conclusion in who to pick, which were Peter, Justin and Dom. At the end of the day the choice that we made for the rapists seemed to have been the best decision we made for the casting of the characters. They all made the parts seem natural throughout the whole film and were able to remain confident throughout the whole film which was a positive for everyone and also took some stress off of the whole camera crew.

Casting Evelyn

Lee was one of the females that came to auditions and was the one that received the part as Evelyn. Evelyn is the girl that Gus (the main character at the party) seems to have a thing for. i believe that the main reason why we decided to make Lee our Evelyn was because of her confidence in front of the camera and the way that she approached the part for the role, I felt that Lee was the one that made it feel natural the most out of all of the girls who did come to auditions. I feel satisfied with the choice that we made when it came to casting her as Evelyn. I believe that she was another help when it came to the film and made it run smoother as the night continued on.

Casting the Dad

On the day of filming we had to do a bit of improving which became successful thanks to BJ who was another person that came for auditions and received the role as the father. Looking back at the script then watching the way that we filmed it I feel that the way we filmed it on the day was a better choice then the shot of just the hand holding the remote. Although BJ was the father he stilled played parts as an extra in some of the other scenes as well.

I do believe that casting BJ as the father and having him as apart of the extras playing in the background was a well thought out idea even if it did only involve the back of him most of the time.
